We've had enough of that.
The rails that move money between countries were designed fifty years ago for a world where only banks talked to banks, business happened between nine and five, and a wire took a week because that was how long it took a telex to bounce through half a dozen intermediaries. That world doesn't exist anymore. The infrastructure just hasn't caught up.
Meanwhile, a new set of rails has been quietly built on top of public blockchains. Transactions settle in seconds. Fees round down to fractions of a penny. There's no weekend. No correspondent. No black box.
We built Barter because the people who benefit most from fixing this — freelancers, merchants, small businesses, families sending money home — are the people with the least leverage to demand change. The big companies figured this out already. They have their own treasury desks and their own stablecoin pipelines. Everyone else is still paying the tax.
